Grief with the volume turned up - supporting a child or young person bereaved through suicide
| 8th September 2010Venue: Cheltenham
Every 80 minutes in the UK someone takes their life (6,000 suicides a year).
This study day will enable professionals to develop a clearer understanding of the issues and impact on a child or young person following a death by suicide.
Drawing upon our national specialist family, individual and group work interventions for supporting children and young people bereaved through suicide, this day will build confidence and introduce strategies for how and why to open up and involve children and young people in conversations about suicide. This will include how to support them to begin to make sense of this death and how to manage difficult memories and intrusive images, and be able to live with their loss and face the future with hope.
