   |   12th December 2011

Winston’s Wish, the national charity for bereaved children, is delighted to have re-located its West Sussex office to Horsham.

The charity which offers practical support and guidance to bereaved children, their families and professionals has had an office in West Sussex since 2006. Lady March, who is the charity’s president, plays an active role in fundraising and raising awareness of the charity’s work, after experiencing the death of her father when she was just four.

Winston’s Wish is now based at permanent offices in West Point in the town having been based within the county for the last 6 years, latterly in Crawley. Speaking about the move Cate Masheder, Family Services Team Leader at the West Sussex office said “We’re delighted to be in Horsham; in the week that we’ve been here we have been made to feel very welcome in the town. We are looking forward to meeting the community and local businesses in the area and continuing our work with bereaved children, young people and their families at a time when they need support the most.”

Since Winston’s Wish launched in the county it has supported over 500 families across West Sussex and is committed to keeping its offices in the area. Cate continued “We chose Horsham as it’s a convenient town for our families to access, with its family friendly facilities and with good transport links for families visiting us for our national services. The new office is more spacious than our previous office, allowing us to offer more group work from our base and grow the services we offer”.

In the next couple of months the charity will be arranging a fundraising abseil and firewalk, please keep an eye out for details coming soon!
