Training For Professionals
Winston’s Wish has built up a wealth of experience and expertise through its direct work with thousands of bereaved children and families. We are pleased to share this with others whose work brings them into contact with bereaved children and the adults who care for them.
Our training is delivered by our own highly skilled staff who draw on their own experience of working with bereaved children and their families. We blend theory with practice in our training, ensuring that those attending will leave with practical, creative ideas to implement.
We offer introductory study days and a full programme of continuing professional development sessions. For a full programme of training, click here.
"I recently attended both the study days: Creative Ways of Working with Bereaved Children 5-11 years and the same study day for working creatively with 11-18 year old's at Winston’s Wish. Previous to these I attended the introductory day to supporting bereaved children, young people and their families in June 2013. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Winston’s Wish. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and inclusive. I found the trainers inspiring and the course content both informative and interesting. I shall certainly be returning for further training in the future having left there feeling my skills and knowledge base greatly enriched. Thank you to all involved at Winston’s Wish for making my experience and study there so enjoyable and rewarding despite the difficult content of the work we do."
