The Importance of Conversation for Children That Are Grieving

Posted by

Winston’s Wish, the charity for bereaved children in the UK, is supporting Dying Matters Awareness week by encouraging families to initiate “The Big Conversation.”

Dying Matters Awareness Week UK 2016 is an opportunity to highlight the importance of talking about death and bereavement.

This year, the theme is the ‘Big Conversation’, with the hashtag #YODO (you only die once) encouraging awareness and conversation. The campaign aims to encourage people to discuss death.

To support this, we have written an article about The Importance of Conversation That Are Grieving, which has appeared on the Huffington Post. You can view it here: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/scott-salter/child-grief_b_9930484.html

Death is still a taboo subject for many. At Winston’s Wish, we know how important it is that young people and children are made to feel part of this important conversation.
