Winston’s Wish, the charity for bereaved children, are looking forward to their annual golf day tournament, which takes place on the 12th of May 2016. Ahead of the popular fundraiser, the charity would like to thank all of its vital sponsors over the years.
The hope for this year’s fundraiser is to raise £8000, which could pay for several young people in Gloucestershire to receive the in-depth support that they need. Brickhampton Court Golf Complex, where the Golf Day takes place, is the event’s main sponsor. They waive all green fees and costs of holding the fundraising at their great facility.
Winston’s Wish would also like to thank Creed Foodservice, who donate all of the food for the event, and Snape Construction, who sponsor the prizes. The fantastic support from all three means that all of the money raised can go directly to the support of bereaved children.
Previous Golf Day fundraisers have raised over £100,000 since 2002 in support of Winston’s Wish, thanks to the fantastic work of the aforementioned supporters and event organisers.
This year’s Golf Day event takes place at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex on the 12th of May and is sponsored by Snape Construction, alongside Creed Food Service. All money raised through the event goes directly to Winston’s Wish to help fund its work with bereaved children.
With 20 teams already signed up and looking forward to a challenging 18 holes of golf at Brickhampton Court, there is still a chance for others to join in. Entry is £200 for a team of 4 and includes the round of golf, competitions and a carvery buffet to finish. Anyone looking to tee up in May should contact the charity’s Community Fundraising team on 01242 515 157 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Liz Thatcher, Community Fundraiser at Winston’s Wish, added:
“This much loved event would not be able to take place without the tremendous support we receive from our main sponsors Brickhampton Court Golf Complex, as well as main supporters Creed Foodservice and Snape Construction. Thanks to their support, all the money raised through entry and activities on the day goes directly towards our work with bereaved children.”
Steven Creed, Managing Director at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex said:
“Our team here at Brickhampton are proud to support Winston’s Wish and value the work they do. We admire the help and support the charity gives to grieving children during the hardest times in their young lives, and encourage the opportunities they provide to promote enjoyment in childhood. We hope everyone enjoys this fun day of golf and we manage to smash the highest fundraising target to date!”
Winston’s Wish helps children and young people rebuild their lives after the death of their mum, dad, brother or sister, enabling them to face the future with confidence and hope.
